I have been a believer for a number of years. I started studying the Bible four years ago when I lived in Virginia. I had been suffering with terrible anxiety. Philippians 4:6 and Matthew 6:28-30 helped me get through that time.
When I moved back to Houston I went through trying family circumstances. I suffer with bipolarism. I started going to a Bible study at the home of a believer who I worked with at the Methodist Hospital in the 1980's. We had remained friends since then. I have gained peace and love. Whenever anything is said that could hurt my feelings I now know how to apply Christ and not be affected by what is said about me. The Lord is a shield for me. I was baptized by immersion on 6/13/99 in Houston. I read about it in the Bible and, helped by the footnotes in the Recovery Version of the New Testament, decided I wanted to do it. Praise the Lord! Meeting with the church in Houston, my home meeting on Friday night, and listening to Witness Lee's radio show were all instrumental in the Lord accomplishing this in me.
